Makisha Bell - Treasurer
Hello, my name is Makisha Bell, I am proud to be a life-long Floridian. I grew up in West Palm Beach back when it was a smaller city. I studied at Palm Beach Community College and received a Medical Coder Specialist certificate in 2000. In 2009, I furthered my education and received my Certified Coding Specialist credential (CCS) from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). I have since worked as a Medical Coder for eighteen years for various hospitals across the country.
My favorite part about being a Certified Medical Coder is it allows me the flexibility to work from home and take care of my duties as a wife and mother. My husband Jimmie and I have lived in Palm Beach County for over four decades. We have three children Dasia (17), Keirsten (12), and Cameron (6).
I’m extremely honored to be a Board Member of the Pink Queen Foundation. Since 2016, my eldest child Dasia, has been a Pink Queenette volunteer. Only 17, this opportunity has helped her to gain knowledge, awareness, and has given her the chance to help others. To know that she is directly involved with making this foundation a success and educating others about cancer awareness is priceless. As the Pink Queen Foundation Liaison, I’m committed to aiding those who are in need.
